Thus far, this site mainly exists to showcase my serial, Nona Umbra. Other writing I publish will go here. If I ever launch another major serial, I’ll reorganize so it gets its own subsection.
The Blue Bull
This is a fairy tale adaptation that hijacked me one night. I had spent the entire day drinking coffee, eating chocolate cake, and reading fairy tales. It was a warm, breezy summer night, and as I drove home through the woods with my windows down, something happened in my brain. I started spinning this extension of one of the stories I’d read, and when I got home I sat down and started writing. I’d meant to only get down the short outline, but the words kept coming and coming, until there were seven thousand of them – easily the most I have ever written at a single sitting.
The original seven thousand word are here, as well as another ten thousand I wrote later to keep them company. This represents only about a third of the story I want to tell, but if enough people find it an intriguing third, I will finish the rest sometime.
For now, though, it’s going here, to keep y’all occupied while I work on Nona Umbra: Book II.
